Joan M. Burda

Joan M. Burda has practiced law in Ohio for over 28 years. She is an Adjunct Professor of Law at Case Western Reserve University School of Law. She is also an adjunct faculty member in the Legal Studies Program at Ursuline College.
Joan is the author of: Estate Planning for Same-Sex Couples (ABA 2004), Gay, Lesbian and Transgender Clients: A Lawyer's Guide (ABA 2008) and An Overview of Federal Consumer Law: A Desk Guide (ABA 1997). Estate Planning for Same-Sex Couples received a 2005 Benjamin Franklin Award--the first ABA published book to do so. She is currently at work updating Estate Planning for Same-Sex Couples.
Joan has written numerous articles for legal publications and speaks around the country on LGBT issues.
